The HR Business Partner is a key position with high visibility that works closely with the Sr Manager, HRBP, and HR Coordinator on day to day operations as well as strategic initiatives that contribute to our positive, employee focused culture. From talent reviews to compliance, position management and ER matters of all types, this position offers ample opportunities to further hone your HR skills, grow your career and make a real difference in the hearts and minds of our employees. This position provides support of employees and leaders in all aspects of employment, including recruitment, onboarding and retention, employee engagement, talent management, performance management, policy implementation and deployment, employment law compliance, and position management.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Strategic Planning:

Identify training needs and assist in aligning training programs with business goals.

  • Ensure the workforce is appropriately sized and agile for the future.

  • Select and develop key talent to fill critical roles.

Coaching and Consulting Leadership:

  • Understand how current and future challenges impact employees.

  • Provide effective advice and coaching to key stakeholders.

  • Empower leadership to handle people matters within the organization.

Legal Compliance and Policy Implementation:

  • Stay up-to-date on employment laws and regulations.

  • Guide leaders in ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to people management.

Candidate & New Hire Experience

  • Work with the Talent Acquisition and Leadership Teams to interview and hire quality candidates for all positions.

  • Review compensation and ensure accurate communication and record of compensation information.

  • Ensure new hires onboarded for success, including administering the new hire orientation program on day one, and follow ups at key junctures.

  • Support all new hire activities, promptly addressing all questions and concerns.

Employee Engagement

  • Participate & lead projects that impact the business, as well as develop consistent messaging across company-wide HR teams.

  • Work closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational change, and employee development at the business unit or division level.

  • Help drive HR focused campaigns and engagement activities.

  • Effectively communicate with and influence employees at all levels.

  • Advising on and managing employee relations issues, including conflicts and disciplinary matters.

  • Work with the Utica site engagement committee on activities.

  • Coordinate employee recognition events that celebrate, recognize and reward our team members.

  • Support Managers with goal setting and performance reviews, as well as talent development plans for their team members.

  • Lead Gallup Q12 employee survey process, quarterly action planning and employee listening sessions.

HR Processes and Procedures

  • Create & verify approval of organizational announcements.

  • Handle all aspects of position management for hourly team members including requisition approvals, staffing management, transfers, promotions and merit planning.

  • Oversee the timely and quality completion of all Q1 processes-performance reviews, merit, and goal setting.

  • Work closely with leaders on all aspects of total performance management.

  • Process employee separations, conduct exit interviews - analyze and report on data for improvements.

  • Work with employees and leaders on leave management and associated timekeeping

  • Work closely with leaders on all employee matters, including corrective actions, performancing and improvement plans.

  • Conduct training on and enforce all pertinent policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.

Partner with Key Stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with employees.

  • Collaborative partnerships with HR team members and shared services.

  • Establish and maintain key relationships with supervisory team and site leader.

  • Highly motivated, self starter with drive and initiative who seeks ownership.

  • HR systems experience, including processing and data analysis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications-Word, Excel and Powerpoint required; MS Teams, Outlook, Workday and Kronos experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills including prioritization and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional or administrative experience

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is 60,000 to 80,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
